Teacher Stephanie is a highly enthusiastic tuition teacher that unfortunately has to share her small and compact classroom with her husband’s physiology center in a narrow shop lot at Selayang. Both their businesses have been doing well which had let to expansion plans with the boyfriend moving to a bigger unit on the ground floor while Teacher Stephanie gets the entire upper floor unit for herself. The expansion scheme for the tuition center was heavily restricted by budget constraints.

 

Not just that, we were also required to use existing furniture that were still in good condition to save on costs. With most business owners typically having similar requirements, Nick and I see this not as a drawback but as an opportunity to assist our client’s much needed plea for help. We understand her reasons for setting these limitations and have adapted to her requests by finding a different solution to the problem.

Our main area of focus in the design will be placed on the vibrant wall art throughout the entire tuition center. Along with the geometric shapes, the authoritative blue and dynamic yellow tones taken from her logo is the main color palette of the design that creates a cohesive balance of discipline and fun in the atmosphere of the tuition center. This was also our solution in creating a cost-efficient design as the wallpapers were affordable but highly noticeable at the same time, effectively displaying her teaching philosophies and avoiding a “cheap renovation” atmosphere that most clients would frown upon.

The new and expanded tuition center now boasts a total of 4 classrooms, a designated waiting lounge with its own snack corner, a multimedia room that is also specially used for pre-school students and a library fused with the pantry tucked behind for privacy.
